Today, I visited an Indonesian town in #DreadOut2, did a little bit of sightseeing and took some pictures until I was run over by a reckless motorbike. It’s undeniably indie, but the detail is still impressive. Andreas Betsche, a writer at Virtual SEA, tweeted screenshots of the game’s Indonesian town.
It’s a shame because the DreadOut 2‘s open-world environment looks pretty cool.
A few reviews took issue with the new open-world, which they found to be a disappointment. A good number of the negative reviews criticize the game’s bugginess, with some also noting that there were game-breaking bugs. The game currently has a Mixed user rating on Steam. DreadOut 2, which released just a few days ago, boasts a larger scope than its predecessor, but its Steam rating is inferior. During their journey, the player will be able to fill a “bestiary” of ghosts on their smartphone, the “Ghostpedia”.ĭreadOut 2 is a third-person horror adventure that draws inspiration from Indonesian folklore and urban legends. She will have to explore many mysterious corners of the place to find answers by talking to living and deceased residents. In DreadOut 2, Linda must save her hometown (and potentially all of humanity) from evil spirits. Here, players will control student Linda Melinda, who has supernatural talents and can see ghosts. Originally released for PC in February 2020, the sequel draws inspiration from Indonesian folklore and urban legends. Already on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the premiere is scheduled for July 15th. Publisher Digerati and developer Digital Happines announced on Wednesday that DreadOut 2, a third-person horror game, will be released on July 20 for PS4 and PS5.
